Our New Home: Kalamazoo

Kalamazoo

The Kalamazoo Promise is a wonderful gift given to all the graduates of Kalamazoo Public Schools. The Kalamazoo Promise promises to pay tuition for the graduates. It will cover up to 100% of tuition as long as the student qualifies. The students qualify for tuition depending on how many years they have attended Kalamazoo Public Schools; they can only receive the tuition if they graduate from a KPS high school. Personally, I have benefited from the Promise a lot. I don’t know how I would have paid for everything had it not been for the Promise. We are all very grateful to the anonymous group of people who donated the money and made it possible for many of us to attend college. Thank you all for giving us this wonderful opportunity.

Although, Kalamazoo is a small city we have a lot of things for all types of people. Whether you like to read a good book, hang out with friends, or party like a rock star there is always something for you to do in Kalamazoo. The Kalamazoo Public Library has an enormous amount of books to choose from. I’m sure you will never get bored and it is very easy to obtain a library card. For those who like to hang out with friends we have a variety of coffee shops downtown as well as all over town. So, no matter where you’re at there will always be a place to just hang out. Monaco Bay, Wild Bull, Wayside West, Cheek to Cheek, The Wine Loft, and many more are all places for the party people. These great places have a variety of dancing, music, and great food. No matter what you feel like doing-Kalamazoo will always have what you’re looking for.

  2. Based on what i've read, facts and points are clear enough and well said, however, the flow of the written essay isn't clear to the topic.

You begin with Kzoo's promise, which is a large sidestep when it comes to talking about Kalamazoo, perhaps in your introduction you might want to include where Kalamazoo is located first, then move on to the weather conditions, population count, hot locations for locals and visitors from out of town, and lastly move on to the community issues which then Kzoo's Promise can fall under.

Sorry for being critical on this piece, but that's what i honestly feel.

Work aside, i'd say that this would be an interesting piece to read for non-locals.

  3. The paragraph with different font, you might think we copied from website then pasted it here. But actually NO! No! We just forgot to edit the font of that paragraph. We wrote it with the information we get from WMU's website.
